ok. It was 1984. I was 12 years old. A German
rock/metal band made it to the US charts and I absolutely loved the album this
was on; I had to beg and bargain with my mother to let me buy it due to the
album cover but eventually she relented. I'm not ashamed to admit I recently
discovered I still like this band. The song was about a breakup where one party
was still in love with the other, hence the title "Still Loving You". And now
you have surmised that the band was Scorpions. I have reworked their song,
electronically, with all synthesizers. Though I have left the lyrics as the
original, let me set a new context for the song: Consider it now as being set in
the near future and sung by an erm... "companion" robot that was dumped -
literally... as in tossed in the dump - by her owner, who was unaware that the
utilitarian android had developed feelings for her owner and now, betrayed and
unhappy, she composes this song to let him know how she feels. That's how I like
to imagine it anyway.. Listen here. (some phones may require a click of the
download link to play the mp3. Of course, it's better on good headphones or some
real speakers.) Feel free to share it, download it, whatever. I love for my
little musings to be heard.
